About Us

Baba Adebayo Ifasesan Adeyemi Onifade was born in Osogbo, Nigeria into the family of the late Chief Araba Awo (Priest) of The Balogun Oduo Compound. This temple is also known as The Onipon Compound in Osun State Nigeria. IFA has been apart of Baba Ifasesan's Life since birth, being raised as a Babalawo by the generations of Babas and Herbalists in his family.

2001

The Orishas Temple of Light was established in 2001 in Nigeria just a few years after his Grandfather Adeyemi Fagbemi Akanni Onifade became Chief Araba Awo; whereupon he granted Baba Ifasesan the ase to begin the temple. His father is Chief Adeymi Fakunle Ayinde Onifade and his mother is Ifafolahan Olaide Adeyemi Onifade Iyalaje, Ode Of Osogbo. His brother, Priest Ifadiji Adetayo Adeyemi Onifade is also a Babalawo. IFA is every bit of his family's way of life.

2008

In 2008, Baba Onifade decided to carry on his family tradition by bringing The Orishas Temple of Light to the US. He first arrived in North Carolina where he was the first to bring the Osun Festival to the area. Shortly after he visited Sacramento to reunite with one of his elders and decided to move there where he eventually created The Orishas Temple of Light of Los Angeles.

2011

Baba Ifasesan’s family and temple endured a great loss when his Grandfather Adeyemi Fagbemi Akanni Onifade made his transition. After his grandfather’s passing, Baba Ifasesan vowed to wholeheartedly carry on his legacy by upholding all of the knowledge and skills he learned from the late Chief Araba Awo and to always embody the true teachings of IFA.

2017

After growing such a successful following in the Bay Area, he was called to expand further by moving to Atlanta in 2017. It took him no time to launch The Orishas Temple of Light of Atlanta located in Douglasville, GA. As a member of the National Union Of Medical Herbalists Practioner Heritage, Baba Onifade is also an herbalist providing herbal remedies to his temple members and clients both locally and worldwide. He uses plant medicine and the ase of IFA to heal a wide variety of issues ranging from infertility, physical ailments, even financial worries.
